Welcome to Our Odyssey's New Executive Director: Megwyn Sanders-Andrews, Ph.D.

Megwyn Sanders-Andrews, Ph.D., is a transformative non-profit leader who, for 20 years, has dedicated her career to promoting connection, joy and community for people with disabilities and other chronic conditions. 

Megwyn holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies with an emphasis in Disability Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in Performance Studies from New York University.   Her dissertation examines the relationship between representations of disease and disability and the lived experiences of people with disabilities and chronic conditions. 

In addition to her work in the non-profit sector, Megwyn spent seven years as an educator in secondary and post-secondary settings and has served as a subject matter expert for The Kennedy Center Office of VSA and Accessibility and as an NEA-funded resident expert in theater and accessibility at Aquinas College.  Most recently, as Executive Director of Donna Lexa Art Centers, Megwyn spearheaded significant, sustained fundraising gains, oversaw considerable regional program growth and drove programmatic and organizational excellence through vibrant, collaborative partnerships and data-driven change management. 

Megwyn’s past professional experiences include serving as state-wide Program Director at VSA Wisconsin (Madison, WI),  Artistic Director of Kaleidoscope Theater Company (Sarasota, FL), Coordinator of the Haym Salomon Division of the Arts at F.E.G.S Health and Human Services System (New York, NY) and Access for All Coordinator at Children’s Theater of Madison (Madison, WI).
