Our Odyssey, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services and connections for young adults living with rare diseases, is thrilled to announce the release of the Overjoyed Accessible Controller. This imaginative idea features a gaming controller to enable inclusion for individuals facing physical challenges, particularly those with rare or chronic conditions.

As a young adult living with a chronic disease, I’ve learned that developing the ability to speak up for my needs in the medical setting is an invaluable skill. Whether preparing for the next visit to the doctor or getting ready to begin a new treatment regimen, self advocacy plays a crucial role.

Our Odyssey is seeking new board members to join a growing national organization serving young adults with rare and chronic diseases.

The Council

Our Odyssey is starting a new venture, and we are looking for community members to apply to be a part of the Young Adult Programming Advisory Council!

Our Odyssey is seeking a Moderator for “Virtual Meet-ups.” These online (zoom) meetings are a space for young adults to connect, learn, and build a network of social and emotional support with people who simply get it. These Meet-ups provide a reminder that no young adult should feel isolated and that we are all in this together.

Each Virtual Meet-up lasts an hour and is scheduled during “non business hours.” Currently there are two Virtual Meet-ups scheduled per month.

To help ensure a smooth transition, the Our Odyssey Board of Directors has hired an Interim Executive Director. With a Certification in Nonprofit Interim Executive Director management, Susannah Erler comes to Our Odyssey with a history of leading nonprofit organizations during executive transitions.
